The Perfect Beginning and End of your River Cruise The Hotel Residenz in Passau is the perfect departure point for your river cruise on the Danube: The central location on the waterfront sets the mood for your river cruise. The comfortably shady patio in front of the hotel offers a great view of the waterways leading to the Black Sea and the North Sea, and allows guests to take a look at the cruise ship before it departs. Behind the hotel you will find the Höllgasse, Passau’s best-known Old Town alley with artists’ studios and galleries, small fashion and jewelry boutiques, and the well-known glass museum. The famous Cathedral (with the largest Cathedral organ in the world), the city hall with the large carillon and impressive state rooms, or the Residenzplatz – one of the most beautiful Baroque plazas north of the Alps where you can fully enjoy Passau’s Italian atmosphere – are all just about 100 meters (328 feet) from the hotel. You will be able to explore the unrivaled flair of the three-river city in its picturesque Old Town alleys, enchanted nooks and crannies, and hidden passages – all right by the hotel. There is no better way to pass the time until your cruise ship sets sail! If you arrive with your own car, we will take care of your vehicle during your trip: After your arrival at the Hotel Residenz, your car will be picked up directly at the hotel, parked safely during your cruise, and will be returned to you directly at the ship when you come back. We are happy to store your luggage after you check out and transfer it directly to the cruise ship free of charge (if your room is booked directly on our homepage under Booking Online) so that you are able to enjoy a carefree stay in Passau until your cruise departs. Should your cruise depart from the 'Lindau' dock (a little bit outside of Passau), we will organize a safe and timely shuttle transfer to your ship.
